The Senior Analyst - Soils role is a highly skilled, technical role that will work closely with the Team Leader – Data Analysis to analyse, model and visualise generation and infrastructure capacity data for contaminated soils.

This role will provide government with key information and data to inform future infrastructure planning for the management of spoil, benefiting the management of spoil over the long term.

Key requirements of the role include both the technical capability to manipulate, analyse and present data in dynamic and visually interesting formats, and the ability to understand and interpret the needs of stakeholders and provide insights in formats to suit the required purpose.

You will engage with RV staff, resource recovery portfolio partners and key stakeholder groups in the Waste and Resource Recovery sector to build and develop relationships to ensure needs are being met and mutually beneficial outcomes are achieved.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary degree or qualifications and accreditation in statistics, business information systems, information technology, computing or other relevant areas will be highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical, data modelling and projection capacity, and capacity to lead data science capability
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and present data such that it is understandable and simple to interpret correlations, patterns and trends both proactively and in response to requests
  • Demonstrated ability to use Excel, PowerBI, SQL, Python and other tools
  • Familarity with the Azure environment is desirable.
  • Experience in contaminated land management is desirable.

This is a fixed term position available for a period until 30 June 2024. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
